Introduction

Celebrate that special occasion, a birthday, anniversary, family reunion or just indulge yourself and sit back, relax and enjoy the sights, sounds and senses of main line steam rail travel as it was in the 'good old days'.

Travel along the Shakespeare Line between Birmingham and Stratford-upon-Avon, steeped in culture, history and natural beauty. The journey from Stratford-upon-Avon to Birmingham usually takes a different route via Claverdon and Lapworth through further beautiful countryside, and our steam locomotive often works up to it's top permitted speed of 60mph. Some engines are permitted to go to 75mph!

An immaculate steam locomotive will pull the train of Vintage Trains traditional rail carriages, all restored authentically to their former glory. Standard class features the comfort of seats at a table for four with large picture windows.

Silver service & traditional English fayre is available at your seat in Premier Dining in our ex-BR Mk 1 Pullman Cars. Depending on the time of day, either a full English breakfast, a freshly cooked 3-course roast lunch or that most English institution high tea will be served. A wide selection of wines, soft drinks and alcoholic beverages are also available. Seating in Premier Dining is available at tables for two and four persons.

Through the carriage windows you will see an ever changing landscape, from Birmingham's fascinating industrial past to Warwickshire's beautiful countryside with its working farms, stylish villages and stations, plus glimpses of waterways and other features that make up Shakespeare's County.
