A round trip via Stratford-upon-Avon, Claverdon, Lapworth, Solihull, Tyseley, Birmingham Moor Street, Birmingham Snow Hill.

Returning via Shirley, Earlswood, Wood End, Danzey calling at Moor Street, Tyseley and Henley.


The southbound journey follows the Shakespeare Line between Birmingham to Stratford. The northbound journey usually follows the branch line through Claverdon, then the mainline through Lapworth & Solihull to Birmingham.

There is a short time to stretch your legs at both Stratford and Birmingham Snow Hill, which gives passengers the opportunity to watch the steam locomotive being shunted around the train.

Passengers will only get a short time in Birmingham. Some may wish to get off the train at Moor Street for the south side of the City Centre or Tyseley to visit our visitor centre (free of charge to ticket holders) which is a short walk away from the station.

The train is operated by Vintage Trains Limited. Only Vintage Trains Limited tickets are valid on these trains.

Pre-book for Discounts: Special discounted prices apply to some Standard Class tickets if pre-booked (see note 1.)

Pay & Go: subject to availability - Standard class tickets may be purchased on the day of travel from one of the Vintage Trains staff - See Seat Availability Standard Class tickets on Train A

Group Bookings: Groups of 12 or more adults travelling together may qualify for discounted fares

Passenger Coaches (Standard class) are mainly open style with groups of 4 seats arranged around a table.  They feature large picture windows affording excellent viewing of the surrounding countryside.

Premier Dining Car Service is offered in our Pullman Cars - with seats at tables for 2 or 4. Seats and meal(s) need to be prebooked (see note 1).

Buffet & On-train Shop - the on-train service offers hot & cold drinks and confectionery. The shop offers a range of gifts for young and old, so you can take away a memento of the day.  These include badges featuring our regular engine.

Stewards are on duty to answer any questions, to assist passengers who may need some extra help and to try to make your journey comfortable and pleasurable. About our Stewards About Vintage Trains Stewards

No Smoking allowed at all on any Vintage Trains Special Notes Only dogs for the disabled allowed

Customers are reminded that as from 1st July 2007 UK government legislation comes into effect prohibiting smoking in public places. Areas designated 'NO SMOKING' include ALL CARRIAGES ON ALL TRAINS AS WELL AS RAILWAY PLATFORMS AND PREMISES.

Other designated no smoking areas include :
- Station premises including corridors, lifts, toilets, waiting rooms, reception areas, waiting rooms and shelters etc; railway offices
- Platforms and footbridges – covered, uncovered and partially covered
- Subways

Vintage Trains regrets that Dogs are NOT allowed on any train except for Specially Trained Dogs for the Disabled.

Note 1 : Pre-booked Standard class seats and ALL Premier Dining Car seats and meals must be booked by the Friday before travel directly with the Vintage Trains Office.
