For your further interest, we have also included a link here to the Totem Experience website. This website is currently featuring a display of images of the former British Railways 'Totem' station signs that were installed from 1948 onwards on the Shakespeare Line. A new British Rail corporate image came into being in the mid 1960s and progressively the totem signs were replaced. The images are taken from photographs of actual totem signs that were used on the stations on the Shakespeare Line that have been preserved by collectors & museums etc.
