Travelling on the Shakespeare Express provides an ideal nostalgic highlight for a day for you and your family & friends.  It could even be a highlight of a weekend break in the Midlands in Stratford, Birmingham or a neighbouring town or village. Many of our customers just come for the ride - that in itself is indeed an excellent day out.

This page offers a few suggestions on how you can incorporate a train ride on the Shakespeare Express with other leisure activities. We give you information about other things that you could see or do in conjunction with a trip on our train. A sort of "starter for ten".  We are sure there are many more ideas, and we have been surprised how customers have blended the Shakespeare Express into their leisure day out.

Visit Tyseley Locomotive Works Visitor Centre

Tyseley Locomotive Works Visitor Centre (formerly known as Birmingham Railway Museum) is a short (5-10 minutes) walk from Tyseley Station.

There are other locomotives & rolling stock under restoration or repair and you could see the collection of railway memorabilia in the Museum building.

This is an ideal stop-off point for those passengers wishing to combine  a ride on a steam train with a visit to our base where the steam engines and rolling stock are restored and maintained.
