If
you believe that you can spare a few hours to help or would like
more information, then please leave your name with a steward
on one of our trains or at the Visitor Centre Shop or e-mail
us by clicking the link (including you name & address or, if
you are a member, your membership number) with details of your skills
and areas of interest.
Please note that all volunteers are welcome, and we will endeavour to match their aspirations with the opportunities available. However it must be understood that for the operational activities, individuals will need to undergo appropriate supervised training and assessment of suitability. There may be very limited requirements for more volunteers for some operational activities.
Additional Benefit - Regular
volunteers get discounts on certain items in the Visitor Centre Shop. |
Opening Up Tyseley's Steam Heritage
Further Volunteers are welcome! |
Birmingham Railway Museum Trust's Chairman, Michael Whitehouse, launched plans to refurbish visitor facilities, displays and attractions at the Warwick Road site on 13/01/07.
An enthusiastic
audience of Vintage Trains Society members and also non-members welcomed the plans. A number came forward to volunteer to assist in making site improvements and opening up the site to a wider public.
The Museum Trust and the Tyseley based Vintage Trains Society, has an enthusiastic group of volunteers from a wide range of backgrounds, who are involved actively with on-going operations and special projects.
The plans for redeveloping the Tyseley site, will require further additional people to contribute towards these fascinating activities - if you are interested in becoming part of Tyseley's future as a volunteer participant, we will be delighted to hear from you.
